MEET THE KDRO HOMETOWN COUNTRY TEAM

Charlie Thomas

I used to be confused with Freddie Prinze ("Chico and the Man") when I was younger.

My favorite quote: "Some folks are wise, some otherwise."

The last TV show that choked me up was "The Rifleman."

The first thing I bought with my own money was a 1961 Ford A picture is worth a thousand words.

I started in radio in 1977 at KBBI in Homer Alaska after our rock band produced the station jingles. I did a big band show as a volunteer then moved back to Oklahoma and started to work at KOTV as a master control operator and voice over talent for the station for the next 13 years before moving to Missouri and working for Benne Media at Mix 92.7.

I attended Columbia College and then was offered a position at KDRO AM.

I then moved to West Virginia to create a station for Bob Denver (Gilligan).

I stayed there until I returned to Sedalia to do mornings at KDRO, a position I still occupy.
